Position Overview

Our next hire is important as we are looking for future partner potential. Ideally, we are going to find an experienced CFP® that is already providing comprehensive technical financial planning and investment management work to a set of clients. We could be flexible to consider a newly minted CFP® or even to look slightly outside of the box and consider a CPA or attorney looking to make a shift in their career.

Client and Advisory Engagement – Financial Advisor (Experienced Hire)

  • Manages and engages directly with a group of clients to best support their financial planning, investments, and risk outcomes.  Engages directly and is responsible for client retention and relationship with assigned clients.
  • Communicates with clients’ needs, objectives, goals, concerns and planning tools
  • Analyzes information and evaluates results to choose the best solution to solve client or operational problems.
  • Identifies concerns, problems or opportunities within client households
  • Analyzes client information and evaluates results to solve problems.
  • Reviews a suitable financial plan and/or investment strategy for clients of the firm.
  • Communicates and markets firm to people outside the organization, representing the organization to customers, the public, and other external sources.

Client and Advisory Engagement – Associate Advisor (Entry Level or Transitioning Hire)

  • Supports the Financial Planning and Advisory Team in preparing for client meetings through the delivery of financial planning
  • Regularly monitors clients’ financial situations with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Supports pre-client meeting activities such as preparation of meeting agendas, client paperwork, Investment Policy Statements, asset allocations as well as post-client meeting tasks such as client financial situation analyses, and coordinates planning implementation
  • Delivers multidisciplinary financial planning support for clients as directed
  • Develops and provides risk management planning support including disability insurance, long-term care, and life insurance analysis. Also, gathers data on legacy holdings, such as annuities and whole life policies.
  • Analyzes information and evaluates results to recommend the best solution to solve client or operational problems
  • Supports the advisory team week over week in any assigned client planning cases.
  • Focuses on high-level planning support and client deliverables as assigned for client planning cases
  • Identifies gaps and recommendations in the financial plan and provides feedback to advisor.
  • Review task assignments for each client and work directly with team members to ensure all follow-up and action items as a result of client meetings are documented in CRM and completed within the specified time frame
  • Under the direct oversight of the Advisor, actively engages in team meetings, providing recommendations and feedback relative to the client’s financial plan as appropriate.
  • Supports Portfolio Administration including trading, money movement, and RMD’s

Shared Responsibilities

  • Engage and prepare client onboarding requirements with financial planning software
  • Update CRM with client data and work through client process
  • Supports Compliance to maintain an effective and robust investment advisory compliance program
  • Performs other compliance related tasks and projects as assigned

Experience and Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • CFP® designation or ability to obtain within 24 months of hire
  • Series 65 license or ability to obtain within 90 days
  • 3-8 years of experience in a in a direct advisory capacity in financial services highly preferred
  • Leadership experience preferred
  • Experience with Financial Planning, Investments and Insurance preferred
  • Experience working with various Custodian Platforms (Fidelity, Schwab, TD, etc.)

Skills and Knowledge

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written and listening)

Position Overview

The Paraplanner (Intern) at The Arkansas Financial Group Inc. is an integral part of our team serving as the true connection between our clients, support team, and advisors.

The Paraplanner (Intern) supports the team through client engagement and planning support. This individual is responsible for the assistance of the development and monitoring of the financial plan development ensuring a consistent positive client experience. They work with the team to ensure all commitments are completed and followed through in a timely manner.

This position requires a pro-active approach and ability to independently carry out the duties of the position. The ideal candidate should exhibit high standards, excellent communication skills, good judgment and ability to take initiative. The ability to effectively manage time and multi-task with attention to detail is critical to this role.

Essential Responsibilities

Client and Advisory Engagement

  • Actively participate in all assigned Advisor client meetings.
  • Demonstrate the ability to escalate potential client issues to Adviser as appropriate.
  • Actively document all notes and action items during client meetings and ensure all commitments made by the Advisor are being completed in a timely manner.
  • Review task assignments for each client and work directly with team members to ensure all follow-up and action items as a result of client meetings are documented in CRM and completed within the specified time frame.
  • Under the direct oversight of the Advisor, actively engage in Team meetings, providing recommendations and feedback relative to the client’s financial plan as appropriate.
  • Responsible for reviewing statements, developing a meeting agenda format, creating presentations, case documentation and deliverables for all assigned clients.
  • Manage developing and maintaining documentation utilizing client documentation standards.
  • Ensures the compiling, coding, categorizing, calculating, tabulating, auditing, reconciling, downloading and verifying of client data in the organizations’ client related software programs, including CRM’s, Financial Planning Software, Investment Management software, and other related or connected programs is completed according to procedure.
  • Identifies information by categorizing, estimating, recognizing differences or similarities, and detecting changes in circumstances or events, in the relationship and the data of the clients.
  • The in-depth understanding of time value of money: present value, future value, annuity payments, internal rate of return and compounding interest.
  • Engage and prepare client onboarding requirements with financial planning software
  • Update CRM with client data and work through client process

Compliance

  • Supports Compliance to maintain an effective and robust investment advisory compliance program
  • Performs other compliance related tasks and projects as assigned

Position Specifications

  • Leadership experience a plus
