Upgraded PlanFirst! Portal and New App
AFG is committed to always improving your experience as a client, and this is an improvement that we are particularly excited about. The PlanFirst! portal has received some meaningful upgrades – including a new mobile app! It is important to know that the PlanFirst! portal is still the same portal you know and use now; it’s simply more powerful and more convenient than before. You can continue using the same web version of PlanFirst! with the added option of the mobile app. The new app and tools are enhancements—not replacements. In this article, we will cover some of the exciting new features.
The New PlanFirst! Mobile App
A common complaint we receive about PlanFirst! is the lack of a mobile app. With so much of our finances conducted on our phones, we believe your AFG portal should be the same. The app emphasizes convenience with faster and easier login with Face ID/biometric access. This means you will no longer have to type in your password every time you login.
How to Download the App
- Open the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
- Search for “eMoney Client Portal”.
- Look for the eMoney logo (pictured below).
- Please note that it will likely be the second result on your search, the first result that is in a blue shaded background is an advertisement.
- Tap Get or Download.
- Open the app and log in with your existing PlanFirst! username and password. (Not the “SSO” that is an option)
- Enable FaceID or biometric login if you would like for quick and secure access.
Once signed in, you will have three options to choose from for your customized home page view.
- Net Worth View: Track your overall financial picture and net worth in real time. This was the previous default.
- Spending View: Monitor cash flow, income streams, and monthly spending more easily.
- Goals View: See progress scores towards retirement, education, or other planning goals you have indicated.
Quick Reference Feature Guide
After the initial set-up, you will see a mobile friendly version of your PlanFirst! portal. On the bottom menu, by pressing “More” you can access more features of your portal. You may find your “Vault” under the “Documents” folder, and if you wish to add connections or change any of your facts, you can do so in the “Organizer” section. Under “Settings”, you can adjust your preferences for Push Notifications. You may select to be notified via phone push notification when we upload items to your Vault (as well as the normal email notification). Please note for the push notifications to work properly, notifications must be allowed in your phone’s settings app. We recommend emailing or calling with any questions or concerns you have related to the new app.
Introducing the “Explore” Tab
The Explore tab is a self-guided sandbox that allows you to explore “what if” scenarios yourself. The enhancements are detailed in this guide. You can make changes to your financial facts without altering your base case. In the “Calculator” section, you can model different scenarios related to retirement, large one-time financial events (like a car purchase, home renovation, travel, etc.), educational expenses, paying off debt, and more.
The “Plan Explorer” section allows you to create scenarios much like you have seen during our meetings at AFG. This will allow you to adjust multiple factors at once and see how they affect your current financial situation. All Plan Explorer plans will be automatically shared with AFG, and you have the option to share anything you wish from the Calculator page as well. We recommend letting your advisor know of any planning-related questions that these tools spark.
Same Portal, Better Experience
We hope that these upgrades improve your experience as a client. With better visibility, planning tools, and easier access, we hope you can stay more engaged with your financial plan.
