Fee Arrangements
The Arkansas Financial Group has an innovative fee structure that we believe is equitable to you and to us. Many financial planning firms around the country use a "bundled" fee approach that bases your fee on a percentage of your portfolio size. This percentage generally ranges from 1% to 3% per year. For example, a 1% rate translates into an annual fee of $10,000 on a $1 million portfolio.
Our "unbundled" fee structure keeps us accountable to you so that your plans remain up-to-date, even in the face of life’s many curveballs. Our objective is to help you develop a customized, dynamic financial plan; one that recognizes life’s ever-changing circumstances.
Core Planning Fee:
By thoroughly reviewing your key financial documents we establish the initial and on-going level of this fee. If this fee is agreeable, you pay a deposit of one-half of the estimated total fee and then we begin our work. The initial phase of the planning process generally takes four to six weeks, depending on the complexity of your situation. To thoroughly cover all of the issues that most clients want initially addressed, we estimate another 18 to 24 months are required.
Maintenance Fee:
The second portion of our fee structure allows us to
maintain the financial plan as it has been established or modified. We begin carrying out your game plan by establishing accounts, transferring your assets, selecting the investments and rigorously following your asset allocation. We provide a quarterly report to apprise you of your portfolio’s status and performance. We refer to this portion of our services as the
Maintenance Fee. The chart shows how we provide these services so that the fee percentage decreases as the size of the investment portfolio increases.
